The implementation and installation phase are a pivotal step in transforming wind project plans into an operational wind farm. This phase is often bustling, with all teams focused on completing the project as swiftly as possible, as any delays can lead to significant financial repercussions.
While the urgency to complete the project may tempt both you and the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to hastily push through the process, it is vital to ensure that the product you receive aligns precisely with the promised specifications.
The commissioning process comprises a series of tasks performed by technicians to verify that the asset meets the fundamental operational requirements. Following the successful completion of the commissioning work, the Take Over Certification (TOC) is conducted. This endurance test typically involves a rigorous 240-hour operational run, during which the asset must perform within predetermined criteria to be deemed acceptable.
These contractual tests are completed and approved by both the OEM and the asset owner. However, the owner's approval often depends heavily on the OEM's reports, which may not present the full picture of the asset’s performance.
This is where Clover Energy can support by thoroughly analysing the data from both the commissioning and TOC test runs, and providing you with independent investigations to verify that the asset has passed the tests during commissioning and TOC. This enables you to identify and address any risks and concerns before formally accepting the handover and executing the final payment to the OEM.
By ensuring that any critical issues are rectified before the OEM departs and transitions responsibility of the asset to you, you can achieve a validated and reliable handover, thereby safeguarding your substantial investment in the wind farm.
